The Centre for the Ocean and the Arctic and REV Ocean entered into a cooperation agreement 27 February 2019. Within this cooperation, we will develop solutions related to marine plastic pollution in the Arctic. According to the agreement, REV Ocean will transfer NOK 1.5 million per year to the Centre for the Ocean and the Arctic, for a period of four years. The funds will be used to employ an expert on marine plastic at the centre.

As part of the agreement, we will also develop a concept where the new research vessel REV serves as a platform for network-building, outreach and educational field trips.
